Francisco Rentería //
Francisco Rentería, tenor, brings warmth, passion, and versatility to the stage. Born in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, he discovered his love for music early and went on to earn both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of Arizona, where he received several honors and awards for his musical excellence.
Over time, Mr. Rentería’s musical journey led him to opera, where he developed his voice under the mentorship of Gail Dubinbaum. Since then, he has appeared as a soloist in beloved masterworks such as Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, and Bach’s St. John Passion. Most recently, he thrilled audiences as the tenor soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, performing with the Tucson Repertory Orchestra and the Sierra Vista Orchestra.
An active opera performer, Mr. Rentería has sung numerous roles with Arizona Opera and Phoenix Opera, including appearances in La Traviata, Rigoletto, Aida, and Lucia di Lammermoor. He is also a proud member of Di Gala Tres Tenores, a popular trio that performs opera favorites throughout Arizona and beyond.
Equally passionate about sharing music with the next generation, Mr. Rentería spent many years bringing opera into local schools through arts education programs, helping young students experience music in lively and accessible ways.
When he’s not performing, Mr. Rentería works as a software developer at Geoforce, a global company specializing in GPS tracking devices for equipment and vehicles.
